Disaster Response Mission Statement

A few days ago I shared with you a template for a Disaster Response Mission Statement. This is an important component of disaster planning. It helps to focus your plans and the role you and your church will play before, during, and after a disaster.

As an example, here is the mission statement for the Metro Disaster Response Ministry.

"The Metropolitan Association, N. Y. UCC Disaster Response Ministry will provide spiritual support, pre-disaster preparedness, and post-disaster assistance to the Association's churches, clergy and volunteers along a disaster continuum."

Your mission statement can always be changed; it is not written in stone.
